Frankenstein Blocks

Thanks so much Kirsti for hosting the 13 days of Halloween!

I've got 2 simple Halloween crafts: a Frankenstein block and Feet Ghosts. Both using a 2x4.

For Franky:

Cut a 6-8 inch piece from your 2x4. (Or have your home hardware store cut it if you don't have access to a saw.)

Paint it green. Let dry.
Paint the top of his head black. Let dry.

For the hair, get creative! On one I painted the hair, on the other I hot glued yarn.

Hot Glue on a nose. A button, a hair thing, a pom pom, etc. Whatever you think is cute!

Paint eyes and mouth. I used a felt tip paint marker.

Drill pilot holes for the "bolts". Then screw in the bolts. I used what I had which was black wood screws, but I think silver ones would be super cute.
Next I distressed Franky with fine sandpaper, just on the edges.

Then I 'speckled' him. I used an old toothbrush and watered down black paint.

Spray with clear matte sealant, and you're finished!

He adds a cute touch, I think!

Now, to use some more of that 2x4! :)

Click HERE for instructions on the Feet Ghosts.

Thanks again, Kirsti!

XOXO,
Melanie
