Mak&O Creations Giveaway!

TUESDAY TUTORIAL-- Fabric Key Fobs: My favorite way to use my scraps!

I love this Key Fob tutorial from Buttercupity! I've seen key fobs made from cotton webbing and fabric or ribbon sewn down the center, but these are 100% fabric, making them way cuter (and cheaper to make!)

They take a little longer, but I think the outcome is well worth it! I tested out the tutorial back in October (because I always seem to lose my keys- This has been a big help!) I've been trying to make a bunch since November. Finally, I was able to this week and they turned out great!
I get the keychain hardware from Everything Ribbons at etsy, and their prices are great.

SuperKid and WonderWoman

This week has been a busy one! I've been designing more Halloween super costumes. My friend's daughter Megan modeled the wonder woman outfit

Tyler giggled the whole time I was taking pictures of him in this super outfit designed for a little boy named Chase (or should I say, Super Chase?)

This one was specially designed in pinks and silver. I think it turned out so cute!

This set included a cape, crown, belt and two arm bands.

Tie for Your Little Guy

Today I'm featuring an etsy seller's pattern that I use all the time:


I have so many cutsie frillie girlie items, but-- I love the simplistic, baby-masculine look of these ties. They are reversible for extra versatility and made with elastic for long lasting use. I added velcro so you don't have to stretch it over his head, just undo and redo! Because I don't have any little girls to spoil with tutus and hair clips, I make them a new tie anytime a special occasion arises.

I made a few of these little brother/big brother matching tie and onesie set for a few friends who just had their second boy. There is nothing cuter than a baby boy with a matching big brother!

who correctly guessed (as most of you did) that I created play pillow rattles! It was a fun project -I made 10 in the buyer's school colors of purple and yellow.

In the process I also created a crinkle toy that I will have available in my store soon. The secret ingredient is wipes packaging which makes a great crinkly noise that my little baby loves! Some of his favorite things to play with have been wipes packages (as he proceeds to pull out the 80 wipes...), candy wrappers, ziplock bags and grocery sacks (with supervision, of course) so I knew it would be a hit!!

Silky Superhero Cape- Perfect for Birthday Parties

Here they are, all 19 of them! I dropped them off at the post office this morning and was truly sorry to see them go. I love the idea and pretty sure my son's 3 year old b-day will involve superman, batman and even some wonder women.

Capes measure 18 X 23 and are shown on 7 year olds. They are perfect for toddlers and young children, but I couldn't get my 2 1/2 year old to hold still (he must be 2 1/2 or something!)

Velcro closure in the front is perfect for little hands to put on and undo themselves.

I can make these in any colors and with any kind of logo: name your favorite superhero or first initial and I will create it for you out of felt!

I'm still working on the 7 WonderWoman and 6 Batman Capes! My goal is to get them out on Friday and then I've got lots of new fabric to show you!!

Twelve Little Tutus

One of my favorite things about etsy is they have a custom needs section where buyers explain exactly what they need and when they need it by. Then sellers place their bids and give a price. I tend to underbid and charge next to nothing for my time (mostly because I love doing what I do, and also because I know what its like to want something but can't afford it.) Soooooo, I seem to have been accepted for many bids lately.

The first custom order I've been working on is princess tutoos for a birthday party next weekend. Twelve to be exact. That's 36 yards of tulle, 7 yards of elastic, and over 500 knotted strips of sparkly tulle!

I wish I could attend this princess party which involves a Disney Princess and all, but it's happening in St. Louis. (And its for 3 year olds.) Dang it. I'll just have to imagine 12 little matching ballerinas in hot pink tutus!

Here's a sneak peak at my next custom order: 17 superhero capes. (For a superhero birthday party, of course!) This one's got me a little overwhelmed, but I know I can do it and I can't wait to start working with the silky fabric I got for the capes and look how cute the logos have turned out!

Off I go cutting out more felt logos as I watch the finale of So You Think You Can Dance!...Can't wait!!
